Solution There are some methods available on the server to help drastically reduce the number of spam’s you receive.

1. Use Spam Assassin
Just enabling spam assassin on its default settings will help drastically reduce the amount of spam you receive. You can adjust its sensitivity from Cpanel to decide how strict you want to be on your incoming emails.

2. Set default Address to :blackhole:
A lot of times, spammers will send emails to asdf@yourdomain.com which gets forwarded to your default catch-all email address. This causes a flood of emails to go into your default email address and fills up your server very quickly. This is how spammers send out mass messages as well as viruses. A common practice between worms, viruses and spammers is to generate or create a false email address they think you'll receive.

Login to your Cpanel, click on Mail, Default Address, at the bottom click Set Default Address

Select the domain in the drop down menu, I recommend repeating this for all domains listed.
In the to: field - enter
:fail: no such address here
Click on Change to save your changes.

Try the above and you should see a large Spam reduction.
